Some Updates
As many alumni and active members are aware, Epsilon Chi has made ground-breaking progress this year. Here are some of the updates as to what has been going on with the active chapter thus far this semester:
- The new members this year have had the opportunity to take part in many events as they travel along the pathway that will lead them to become active brothers in Sigma Nu. Perhaps no event was more significant than the night all of the candidates got together to paint the spirit rock in the middle of campus. This event marked the first time Sigma Nu colors were displayed on the rock since the night before the re-chartering nearly four years ago.
- The flag football team, which in the past was amongst the worst in the Fraternity leagues, finished with a record of 2-2 for the regular season.
-The intramural waterpolo team had a season of which was enough to send them to the playoffs.
- The popular 'Bike-A-Thon' philanthropy from the 1970’s no doubt gained as much popularity this year as it did nearly 40 years ago. Sigma Nu not only raised a large amount of money for the Scholarship fund, but also received recognition from the BG News and from The Gavel when pictures and information about the philanthropy were presented in both.
- Sigma Nu had a photo shoot for its second composite picture since Fall of 2005.
- Solid housing looks to be in order for years to come as 5 men from the active chapter have agreed to re-sign our chapter house located on East Wooster Street. Next year will mark the fourth straight year that Sigma Nu has occupied the Wooster Street house and the word is out on campus that Sigma Nu DOES have a house which the chapter calls home.
