• About Sigma Nu...


    Sigma Nu was nationally founded at Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in 1869 when our three founders were unsatisfied with the fraternities present at the institution at that time. What prompted the founding of Sigma Nu was a desire to stray away from the mass amounts of hazing that occurred inside the fraternities. As a result Sigma Nu was founded in direct opposition to hazing and still stands for that value today.

     

    Sigma Nu Fraternity exists to develop ethical leaders inspired by our three founding principles of Love, Honor and Truth. Further, we work to develop the mind, heart and character of each of our members so they, too, can realize our vision of “Excelling with Honor.”

    Founded against hazing, Sigma Nu holds Love, Honor, and Truth to be three of our most core values. Here at the BGSU Epsilon Chi chapter, we try to live these values every day in the  Greek community, in the classroom, on the field, during our philanthropies, and while performing service. We're learning how to become members of society through our education. We're learning how to become better men and leaders through Sigma Nu.
